ABOUT
Winslow Water System is a rural water utility in the Boston Mountains of the Arkansas Ozarks. Our system is a municipal system owned and operated by the City of Winslow serving approximately 650 water connections in the city of Winslow and surrounding area. The Winslow Water System has been in operation since 1978. The system first started with drilled wells as the water supply. In 1988 and 1989 new lines were laid and we started purchasing our water from the City of Ft Smith. The source of this water is Lake Ft Smith. The water is treated at the Lake Ft Smith water treatment facility and pumped up the mountain to the top of Mt Gaylor and is gravity fed to our customers north of there.
Winslow has an active Farmer’s Market that is open every Saturday, April-October downtown in the pavilion and winter months inside the Winslow Mercantile. Winslow is a Tree City USA town. The City of Winslow sponsors an annual 4th of July Celebration with fireworks and an annual Christmas Parade. There are numerous non-profits in the city and area that offer many activities throughout the year.
The Winslow Water System offices are located in Historic Downtown Winslow inside Winslow City Hall and adjacent to the Winslow Museum and are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
