RULES & REGULATIONS
The goal and purpose of Winslow Water System is to provide adequate safe water to our city and community as economically as possible. With this in mind, there are some rules and regulations that must be followed to do this successfully.
1. A single water meter is intended to provide water to a single household.
2. All new water taps must have approved Health Department septic system before a meter can be set. (This is a State of Arkansas regulation)
3. Water may not be turned on at a property until the owner of the property has established an account with Winslow Water System.
4. Water meters, regulators and meter boxes are the property of Winslow Water System. Tampering with or turning a meter on or off without the permission of Winslow Water System is illegal.
5. Water meters will be pulled for non-payment if the customer turned the water on without paying or without permission from Winslow Water System. The charge to re-set the meter is $50.00. The meter will only be re-set after all charges have been paid.
6. There will be a $250.00 charge for setting a meter on a vacant property.
7. Winslow Water System does provide adjustments for leaks over 40,000 gallons. In the event that a customer has a leak of this size, they need to contact us and we will adjust the bill. If needed, a payment plan to pay off the leak can be arranged.
8. Rental properties water bills are due by the 20th of each month with no exceptions unless there is a written ok from the property owner.
9. In extenuating circumstances, a payment plan may be arranged to pay off your water bill. These must be in writing from our office.
